Canada’s Visa Centres with Built-In CCP Organs Have No Data Security Breaches: VFS Global

VFS Global, a technology service company that manages Canada’s visa application process abroad, said it is able to ensure the security of personal data received in China, amid growing concerns about a visa centre in Beijing run by a Chinese government agency. VFS representatives told the House Committee on Citizenship and Immigration on Monday that the Beijing government and the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are not involved in the company’s visa application process. Earlier this month, media reports revealed that a VFS subcontractor, Beijing Shuangxiong Foreign Service Company, which operates Canadian visa-application centre in China’s capital, is owned by the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, which is China’s police agency. “Recent media reports suggest that we have Chinese ownership, this is false.
