Nolte: Ted Cruz Stepped {within} the {Press|Mass media}'s Trap, and Tucker Carlson Closed It

What happened to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) this week {is really a} {substantial} victory for {the organization} media and {an ideal} illustration of {the way the} {press|mass media} trick Republicans into damaging themselves.

What we {noticed} at the U.S. {Capitol on January 6 was nothing {near} a terrorist attack or an insurrection or Pearl Harbor or 9/11.|Capitol on January 6 was nothing {near} a terrorist attack {or even} an Pearl {or even} insurrection Harbor or 9/11.} {{It had been} a mostly peaceful protest {in which a} bunch of yahoos {switched} violent.|{It had been} a peaceful protest {in which a} {couple of} yahoos turned violent mostly.} That’s it. That’s all {it had been}. Unfortunately, {things far went {too|as well},} and the lawbreakers {are increasingly being} punished.

{Certainly}, the riot {had not been} pre-planned, for {experienced|got|acquired} it been, {maybe {one individual} – {just one single} – {could have} been armed.|{one individual} – {just one single} – {could have} been armed maybe.} Maybe {one individual} – {just one single} – {could have} been {billed} by the left-wing Department of Justice with terrorism or sedition or insurrection.

Ah, {however the} corrupt {press|mass media} and the Democrats – {exactly the same} corrupt {press|mass media} and Democrats who cheered on and encouraged months of riots in {greater than a} dozen Democrat-{operate} cities that included {structured|arranged} attacks on state capitols – {been employed by} diligently to pressure {individuals} into falsely describing an anti-vote fraud protest that {obtained} {beyond control} as terrorism.

{Just how do} the media {do that}? Well, it’s {very easy}. {All the} establishment {press|mass media}, and {After all} {all the} {press|mass media} – every newspaper, TV network, and cable channel – conspire to gang {through to} anyone who {won’t} {go with} this false narrative. {{Folks are} bullied and insulted and attacked.|People are bullied and attacked and insulted.} But … {which} is {most significant} … {a getaway} hatch {emerges}: Just {state} what {we wish} you to say, {and we’ll {keep|depart} you alone.|and we’ll alone {keep|depart} you.} Hell, {{we may|we would} even praise you.|{we may|we would} praise you even.}

But that escape hatch {may be the} Trap, {and {as soon as} you fall {for this},|and the brief moment you fall {for this},} {you are {just about|virtually} doomed.|{you’re} much doomed pretty.} Why? {Because it {won’t} be enough.|Because it {won’t} enough be.} {Why} is this… {{In the event that you|If you}} agree, as Cruz has, {to lie about January 6 {being truly a} “terrorist attack,|about January 6 {being truly a} “terrorist attack to lie,} {” the media will {transfer to} phase two,|” the media shall {transfer to} phase two,} {that is} to demand you criticize those {is likely to} party who won’t do {exactly the same}. This {not merely} puts you in {the positioning} {of experiencing} to either 1) criticize members {of your} party or 2) {appear to be} a weasel while refusing to criticize them, {{but it addittionally} angers your voters,|{nonetheless it} angers your voters also,} which damages your, say, presidential chances.

What’s more, nothing angers the GOP base {a lot more than} watching one of {our very own} give credibility to media lies.

{Over the|On the} full years,} I’ve seen this {eventually} Republicans {one thousand} times. But not {lately}. {Apart from} quislings like Rep. Liz Cheney (Sellout-WY), {with regards to} handling the fake media, the GOP is much-improved these last {couple of years}.

WASHINGTON, DC - JULY 27: U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) questions witnesses during a hearing of the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack on the U.S. {On July 27 capitol,} 2021 at the Cannon House Office Building in Washington, DC. Members of law enforcement testified about the attack by supporters of former President Donald Trump on the U.S. Capitol. According to authorities, about 140 police officers were injured when they were trampled, had objects thrown at them, and sprayed with chemical irritants during the insurrection. Well, {{it is possible to} only imagine how happy the media are today after watching Cruz,|today after watching Cruz {it is possible to} only imagine how happy the media are,} a GOP superstar, {implode {yesterday evening} on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show.|night on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show implode last.}

As {he’s got} done {before} , {this week earlier,} {Cruz {once more} falsely described the January 6 riot as a “violent terrorist attack.|The January 6 riot as a “violent terrorist attack cruz {once more} falsely described.} {” Only this right time,} {he said it {on to the floor} of the U.|{it had been} said by him {on to the floor} of the U.}S. Senate, {and folks} took notice, including Tucker Carlson.

So {in order to} {tidy up} his cucky mess, Cruz appeared on Tucker’s show and tried to backtrack with the ludicrous claim his comments were “sloppy” and “frankly dumb” and a “poor {selection of} words.”

Carlson was {getting} none of it. “{I assume} {I simply} don’t believe you,” he said. “And {After all} that with respect because {I’ve} such respect {for the} acuity {as well as your} precision.”

And now {the organization} {press|mass media} {are usually} gleefully piling on as Cruz’s presidential aspirations shift from contender to Liz Cheney Jr.

{Nicely|Properly}, why wouldn’t the {press|mass media} gloat and {put on}? They have {already been} {attempting to} destroy Cruz for {the higher} part of {ten years}. {And today}, he’s self-immolated {with the person}. {{It had been} bad enough he {thought we would} buy {to their} narrative,|{It had been} bad he {thought we would} buy {to their} narrative enough,} {however now} he’s been {captured} dissembling {with this particular} nonsense {in regards to a} “bad {selection of} words” when he’s been using those {exact same} words for {per year}.

Plus, {which} is what {harm} him {primarily}, {he looks weak now,} {captured} off guard, like {a person who|somebody who} can’t {deal with} the media, like {a person who|somebody who} will fall apart {beneath the} media pressure ala Mitt Romney and John McCain {throughout their} failed runs at the White {Home}.

The sad thing is {that} Cruz had {to accomplish} was {stay} by his guns. {{Rather than} breaking weak {with this particular} false claim {to be} “sloppy,|Of {busting} weak {with this particular} false claim {to be} “sloppy instead,}” he {must have} said, {This is} of terrorism {will be} committing violence {in search of} a political {end result|result|final result}, and that’s what I {noticed} at the U.S. {That day capitol.} Not everyone. {A big} majority were peaceful. {However in} my book, {those that} were violent {had been} committing {the} definition of terrorism.

He {may have} threaded that needle. {Individuals} like me {may have} disagreed, but {there is} ground for him to stand on. {The actual fact} he didn’t have the savvy {to achieve that} and, instead, {{thought we would} quibble and deceive and basically {meltdown} is another strike against him.|chose to quibble and deceive and melt down is another strike against him basically.} {We are {in need of|looking for}} our presidential candidates {in order to} outfox the left-wing {press|mass media}, {to be {solid} and savvy,|to be savvy and {solid},} and {in a position to} think {on the} toes and stay out {of these} traps.

Worse still, Cruz had {a day|twenty four hours} {to create} a response {but still} blew it, {made it worse still,} and now, {together with} our disgust at watching him {belong to} the media’s trap, {we’re questioning his competence and poise.}

{The true} bad news for Cruz is {that} isn’t over, not {by way of a} longshot. He walked {right into a} media trap a blind man could see {and} {managed to get} worse by {attempting to} squirm his {way to avoid it}.
