Hit-and-run driver who killed 2 children in South Florida has been arrested, deputies say

The driver of a 2009 Honda Accord Sedan who veered around a bus, {monday afternoon striking two children fatally and injuring four others,} has been arrested, {tuesday night the Broward Sheriff’s Office announced.}

Physical evidence left at the crash scene at 2417 N.W. Ninth Ave. in Wilton Manors led detectives to the suspect, Sean Charles Greer, 27. {Greer was booked {in to the} Main Jail Tuesday evening,|Tuesday evening greer was booked {in to the} Main Jail,} the Sheriff’s Office said.

Greer is facing two counts of leaving the scene of {a major accident} involving death, two counts of leaving the scene of {a major accident} involving serious bodily injury, two counts of leaving the scene of {a major accident} involving injuries, tampering with evidence, four counts of driving {with out a} license causing death and serious bodily injuries and driving with a suspended license, {in accordance with} deputies.

Greer is on probation for burglary in Broward County, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Shortly before 3 p.m. Monday in the 2500 block of Northwest Ninth Avenue, a city transit bus stopped to {fall off} a passenger and pulled out {to keep} driving south when Greer approached the bus from behind, {didn’t} {permit the} bus to merge and veered around it, {nearly hitting {leading} driver’s side of the bus,|hitting {leading} driver’s side of the bus nearly,} {in accordance with} deputies.

Greer then drove {the automobile} off {the street} and onto the sidewalk, the Sheriff’s Office said, {where he hit the {band of} six children,|{where in fact the} group was hit by him of six children,} {most of} whom were relatives. The Sheriff’s Office identified {both} girls {who have been} killed as Andrea Fleming, 6, and Kylie Jones, 5.

Draya Fleming, 9; Audre Fleming, 2; Laziyah Stokes, 9; Johnathan Carter, 10, were all hospitalized with injuries at Broward Health {INFIRMARY}.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Battallion Chief Stephen Gollan said Monday that two of the injured children were in critical condition.
